How would you create an inexpensive bowling activity for elementary aged kids?
spendergast5 asked:
Hi. I was nominated for Homeroom Mom, my son is in Kindergarten.. We are responsible for creating a bowling activity for the elementary school and we need ideas on how to construct one without spending much money. Unfortunately not many parents are able to help, so it will just be a few of us. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks so much and please wish me luck

I do preschool so I know all about cheap and easy ways to make things lol…
Take some soda bottles or something like it and a ball.
You can do anything you want on the bottles add weight, make designs for the bottles, use it as part of a lesson plan.
Simple things like this is why I love young children they don’t need much to be happy with.
I hope this has helped some with your question.

Why don’t you use those soda bottles – the big ones. Fill them with water so they will wobble but will be light enough to knock down and heavy enough to stay without tipping with the slightest movement.
You can get or borrow a nerf ball (from the pe teacher – sure she has some) to use as the bowling ball. If you are doing it indoors, get some regular masking tape to make the lanes on the floor – don’t want to do that on hard floors because you will ruin your nails scraping tape off the floors.

Check with the USBC (governing body of the sport of bowling), and see if they have any promotional activity sets complete with a mat to act like the bowling lane, soft bowling balls as well as pins. I’ve seen it in action in TV commercials and at some youth centers. If they can rent one or donate a bowling set to your school, that would be great! I think their website is bowl.com. Good luck!

I’ve invented a unique, never seen before game of bowling which could be played by the kids in your class. If you’d like to learn more about my game you can contact me at bew0556@hotmail.com. Anyone else who might be interested can feel free to contact me for information concerning a league for this game I’m creating ion the Cleveland Ohio area.
